Bad news at Vans Warped Tour 2012 (Toronto)
Yesterday’s Vans Warped Tour 2012 was a day of extreme heat, sunshine, quick moving storm clouds and a chaotic mess (during the storm) at The Flats @ Molson Canadian Amphitheatre. Sadly a fan collapsed during the festival and was pronounced dead. As I was leaving in the midst of what seemed like a monsoon rain storm I’m pretty sure I saw this fan being rushed out on a stretcher with many people screaming to get out of the way. I hope the best for the family and friends she left behind and hopefully they find out the cause.
Photos of the day will be posted this week! So stay tuned to the site and check them out.
Here’s a post from Alternative Press regarding the situation:
Toronto news outlets are confirming the death of a fan who collapsed this afternoon at the Molson Amphitheatre stop of the Vans Warped Tour.
Via CP24:
“A woman has died after she collapsed near the stage while attending the Vans Warped Tour at the Molson Amphitheatre.
According to police, witnesses on the scene administered CPR to the woman but were unable to resuscitate her.
It is not known what caused her to collapse, but police say it was likely a medical issue.”
More via thestar.com:
“EMS officials said people saw a woman in her early 20s lying on the grass and not breathing. They called 911 around 12:40 p.m. and attempted CPR.
Paramedics arrived and found the woman without a pulse. She was transported to Toronto Western hospital in the highest priority, where police say she was pronounced dead.”
UPDATE 10:27 PM: Warped Tour have posted a tweet about the situation.
UPDATE 12:35 PM: It is being reported on Twitter that the woman is Taylor Nesseth, a nineteen year old from Ontario. Her Tumblr post about going to Warped is also circulating around. Reports also indicate the incident occurred during Chelsea Grin’s set.
