Momma revived the '90s at The Garrison in support of their album "Household Name"

Led by Etta Friedman and Allegra Weingarten, Brooklyn based Momma evoked a sense of nostalgia with a modern touch last night in Toronto. The band is currently on tour supporting their critically acclaimed release Household Name (2022) via Polyvinyl.
It’s been years since I attended a show at The Garrison (thank you COVID) and it felt oh-so-good to be back. The homey venue at the back of The Garrison was packed with cassette loving Gen-Z music fans, outfitted in corduroy and baggy clothes. Momma kicked off the show with “Rip Off” and played mostly tracks from their last two albums Household Name (2022) and Two of Me (2020). Fans also received a special treat with their electric rendition of The Breeders “Divine Hammer.” Aside from a few sound issues with feedback, Momma were exceptional with their 90’s influenced lo-fi set.
