Metalcore Mastery: Recapping Architects' Explosive Return to Toronto's Rebel on the Seeing Red Tour

On Thursday, May 2nd, 2024, British metalcore titans Architects returned to Toronto's Port Lands to perform at Rebel on the Seeing Red Tour. After a successful run in the UK, the band has come overseas, bringing along Southern California's Of Mice & Men as direct support and fellow Britts, Sheffield's While She Sleeps.
It was pre-pandemic since the last time Architects performed in Toronto. Their return was long overdue and clear as the sold-out crowd was in a crazed frenzy the entire night. Their show featured massive walls of digital screens and an oversized riser at the back of the stage, with band members towering over frontman Sam Carter as he injected pure adrenaline into the crowd, starting the show off with "Seeing Red." Their performance was near perfect, and it showed that since their last Toronto show, they've grown and mastered their craft as they looked like seasoned vets flawlessly ripping through their discography with songs such as "Impermanence," "Hereafter," "Gravedigger," and the live debut of their latest Jordan Fish (ex-Bring Me The Horizon) produced single "Curse." During the set, Carter gave Toronto hockey fans luck as he performed decked out with a custom Maple Leafs jersey while they played for their lives in Boston in the playoffs.
The night was a testament to the camaraderie and mutual respect within the metalcore community. From the powerful performance of While She Sleeps to the high-energy set of Of Mice & Men, and finally, the metalcore mastery of Architects, the night was a celebration of good vibes, good tunes, and killer performances. Standout moments included Architects' encore, where they blew the roof off Rebel with "Nihilist" from 2016's All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us and their massively successful track "Animals" from 2021's For Those That Wish To Exist.
