Photos: Ty Segall @ Phoenix Concert Theatre
California’s Ty Segall made his way through Toronto on February 6th, 2013 to perform at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in support of his many releases in 2012. The show consisted of a great lineup with Teenanger, K-Holes & Ex-Cult kicking off the night before Ty hit the stage to an eager audience. It looks to like 2013 is going to be another huge year for Ty and he’s starting it off right by giving his fans what they want… Rock ‘n’ Roll. Stay tuned for our full Gig Review of the show but in the meantime check out our photos…
Photos: Hannah Georgas @ The Mod Club
Hannah Georgas’ latest self-titled release (via. Dine Alone) is a solid indie pop record with the perfect mixture of Regina Spektor, Leslie Feist and Georgas own unique flare. She’s currently on tour supporting her new record and stopping through Toronto @ The Virgin Mobile Mod Club on Friday February 1st, 2013. The opening act Aidan Knight & The Friendly Friends absolutely killed it. It was great to see a band jam and look to each other for the next move, feeling their own vibe. Hannah opened up the show seamlessly with a dimly lit stage combined with some vintage edison bulbs making the…

Photos: Hot Water Music @ Danforth Music Hall
Hot Water Music were back in Toronto last night and it was a great sight to see at Danforth Music Hall. Currently on tour supporting their most recent record Exister (via. Rise Records) since they reunited last year. There’s one thing to say about Hot Water Music’s recordings but regardless of how successful their records have been and how great they are, we think their live show is a MUST SEE for any fan of punk rock, rock, etc. The guys in Hot Water Music killed it last night playing tracks from their entire discography (which is big), giving the audience…

Photos: Underøath @ Sound Academy
With the only Canadian stop on the tour, Underøath said hello and goodbye to their Canadian fans at Toronto’s Sound Academy last Friday night. It’s always a tough time hearing bands you’ve grown to love break up. In the past few years we’ve seen plenty go like Thursday, Thrice and Alexisonfire. Underøath has been a massive act in the christian metal/metalcore scene and after close to 15 years as a band (1999-2013), it was great to see how much passion and energy they still had to give on their Farewell Tour. What a wicked show, it was nuts… Kids flying over…
