Grizzly Bear and The xx are hitting the road together this summer, stopping in 8 cities. The most important stop on the tour is the first date which takes them to Toronto (yes we’re biased) @ Downsview Meadows. The tour kicks off June 6th so make sure you pick up your tickets quick! Beyond The Watch spent yesterday enjoying the heat of a blistering summer at Downsview Park for this years Edgefest 2012. This year was an amazing festival with the likes of The Sheep Dogs, The Dirty Heads, USS and so much more. The closers Death From Above 1979 and Billy Talent performed wonderfully but, I’ve got to say that The Coppertone had an unbelievably rad set as well as The Sheepdogs. Perhaps that’s just me and my slight ADD tendencies though. However, it was evident that it wasn’t just me that was distracted by the collapsed Radiohead stage that looked eerily untouched, on the trek from the parking lot to The Meadow. Edgefest 2011 – Downsview Park Review by: Karlie Hopf Edgefest 2011. The sun was shining; the beer was flowing; the bands were rocking and the crowds loved it. Our day started off early, traffic, security, fans already drunk at 11am, but through all the early morning confusion Red Bacteria Vacuum out of Japan kept us entertained with there hilariously poor English and definitely rocking set on the side stage.
