Photos: Thrice @ Sound Academy

Millennial’s from across the GTA made their way to the newly renovated Sound Academy to witness the return of Thrice on Tuesday, June 21st, 2015.

Yup, remember them? With hits like “Deadbolt”, “The Artist in the Ambulance”, “Red Sky”, and the entire collection of “The Alchemy Index”… who could have forgotten?

After taking a five-year hiatus, the post-hardcore, punk, emo and rock outfit recently released one hell of a comeback record entitled To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere. It’s one of their best yet and feels like it was meant to come immediately after their 2005 breakout album Vheissu. Throughout the new album, we see the band evolving to more progressive sounds.

Along with the release comes their North American headlining tour with support from Gates and La Dispute. The newly revamped live show featured a ton of new tracks and classics that every long-time fan wanted to hear. It was a powerful performance and a far more positive experience than their farewell show at Toronto’s Kool Haus (rest in peace). It’s obvious that these guys are in a better place musically and I can’t wait to see what else we're in store for with Thrice in the years to come.
