Photos: Marilyn Manson, Slipknot @ Air Canada Centre

Iowa's Slipknot brought their epic live show to Toronto's Air Canada Centre on Tuesday, July 19th, 2016. Their summer tour also featured goth/industrial rock king Marilyn Manson and Of Mice & Men opening up the show.

Marilyn Manson was drunk, sloppy and actually quite dangerous as photographers stood in the photo pit taking photos of the star as he smashed beer bottles and dropped them into the barricade. As his set continued we noticed from outside of the GA floor section that no music was even being sung and after the show found out that he was missing lyrics and was a massive disappoint for cult fans. In the end, Manson still performed well for the camera and I got some pretty rad photos of him.

Slipknot has dominated the heavy metal scene for a long time now and it's no secret that their live show is insanely good. I got my first taste of them live at last years Heavy Montréal (see photos here). I was eagerly awaiting my next fix and it obviously did not disappoint. This time around we (the photographers) got far more intimate with frontman Corey Taylor as he crouched down on his riser and flipped the cameras off or creepily smiled while screaming:

"Insane am I the only motherfucker with a brain?. I’m hearing voices but all they do is complain. How many times have you wanted to kill. Everything and everyone. Say you'll do it but never will."

Their live show is unlike any other. It's intense and straight up raw. Taylor and the boys make your money well spent. Even if you're not a fan of metal, this is a must see band for any fan of live music.
