Jimmy Eat World’s Something Loud Tour Electrified Toronto Music Fans at History

Jimmy Eat World have been around since the 90s, impressively surviving waves of rock music trends and outlasting most of their peers within the emo, emo pop and alt rock genres. The band's Something Loud Tour arrived at Toronto's History on September 29th, 2022, bringing a much-needed dose of nostalgia and some high-energy vibes from what felt and looked like a reenergized band after the pandemic.

The stage presence of lead singer Jim Adkins was magnetic. A force that continuously pulled me in as he commanded centre stage at History, rocking dress shoes and perfectly coiffed hair. The rest of the band fed off his energy as they flanked both sides of the stage. The band continuously dialled up the performance with impeccable sound, thoughtful song choices and technically precise playing that only comes from playing with each other for decades.

Jimmy Eat World rolled through a setlist fuelled with the same energy found on their newest track, "Something Loud," with a peppering in of fan-favourite tracks from Clarity (1999), Bleed American (2001), Futures (2004) and their latest Surviving (2019).
