Alex G brought lo-fi cosmic vibes and all the moods to History in Toronto

Havertown, Pennsylvania's Alex G returned to Toronto to perform at History, supporting his latest critically acclaimed album God Save The Animals. The album was released on September 23rd, 2022 via Domino featuring singles "Runner", "Blessing", "Miracles", and "Cross The Sea".

Australian dream pop act Hatchie joined Alex G as the opening act across North America, supporting their latest effort Giving The World Away via Secretly Canadian.

The night kicked off with a set filled with moody dance vibes by Hatchie, with songs going back to her debut EP Sugar & Spice, 2019's Keepsake, and her latest.

The moodiness continued as Alex G took the stage and began to perform "S.D.O.S", drenched in a dim red light. The set was filled with a cosmic-esque vibe ebbing and flowing through high and low energy songs. Alex G's setlist spanned his entire discography with a hefty encore filled with favourites including "Southern Sky", "Sarah" and "Bobby".

Alex G is a trip. He's one of the most creative indie artists that I've had the privilege to listen to over the last 20 years and hope that he continues to put out stellar music in the future.
