Beyond The Watch's 23 Best Photos of 2023
2023 was a big year for Beyond The Watch. Our twelfth year was far from our busiest and most active year but was among the most meaningful. When the pandemic hit (ugh, will this ever not be in our vocabulary?) I thought Beyond The Watch was finished; the End had come. To be honest, it wasn't that upsetting at the time. Concerts and shooting music had run their course for me, and I was getting extraordinarily jaded and forgetting how special live music is. The opportunity to photograph incredibly creative talents from around the world was a privilege. I lost sight of it as the world shut down to protect itself from the invisible enemy known as Covid-19 (eww).
As time passed, it allowed me to recharge and re-focus my efforts on my full-time career as a Creative Director (www.thehourishere.com) and my family and get back to my passion outside of it all: skateboarding. I dabbled with shows here and there last year, but this year, that passion and drive for music, photography, and capturing live shows came back in full force, and I couldn't be more thankful that it arrived. It's been a blissful back half of the year as I re-engaged our website and social channels, started to find that joy again, and saw familiar faces in the photo pit (and many new ones!).
As I look ahead, I'm excited to get back into everything that has made Beyond The Watch so rewarding for the past twelve years. I cannot wait to experience the music with you in 2024. I'm stoked to be back (mentally) and ready to continue this legacy that is BTW. Here's a look at 23 of my favourite photos from 2023 below.
