Last night at Massey Hall, Mac DeMarco returned to the city with a show that felt part laid-back living room jam, part full-on indie-rock celebration. It’s been years since his last Toronto appearance, and if we’re correct, the last time he played the city was back in 2019 at Echo Beach, making this a long-awaited return for the diehard DeMarco fans.
Born in British Columbia, DeMarco is currently touring behind his sixth studio album Guitar, while also quietly handing out burned CDs of his surprise release Dog on the Rock to fans at select stops, adding to the mystique around this run of shows.
Last night was a special one. Good vibes, good tunes, and good people all around. And special shoutout to the merch designer for that epic Guitar 🇨🇦 tee.
