Leading the charge this week is Citizen with Halcyon Blues, an emotionally charged and melodic record that balances the band’s heavier instincts with plenty of introspective atmosphere. Canada’s own Cancer Bats bring the grit on Give Me Dirt, a raw and raucous release that finds the longtime hardcore favourites sounding as energized as ever. Ceremony return with Tell Me Your Dream, a wide-ranging record that blends punk urgency, post-hardcore intensity, and a more expansive alt-rock edge. Rounding things out is Man/Woman/Chainsaw with Cannonball, the London band’s highly anticipated debut album, which channels searing noise, art-punk energy, and an unpredictable live-wire spirit. All four albums are out today.
