Manchester, UK indie rock quartet Westside Cowboy have shared their new single, “Dobro,” the final preview of their highly anticipated debut album, It Goes On, arriving August 21 via Island Records. The track follows the previously released singles “Kick Stones (The Boys)” and “Pin Up Boys.”

“Dobro” is a short, swaggering burst of slacker rock built around warm fuzz, retro static and the band’s instinctive sense of dynamics. James (Jimmy) Bradbury takes the lead vocal, joined by Aoife Anson O’Connell’s trademark harmonies as the song gradually unfolds into a loose, infectious groove.

“This is our strut song, over two minutes in length but just under three,” the band says of the track. “A song for perhaps a younger self? For that moment of waiting and isolation in the hopes of a return. Or it could just be a song about a weird guitar. Who knows!”

Hit play on the video below and get familiar with Westside Cowboy’s latest single before It Goes On arrives on August 21. If “Dobro” is any indication, the Manchester band’s debut album is set to be one of the year’s most exciting UK indie rock releases.

Produced by Loren Humphrey (known for his work with Geese, Cameron Winter and Wunderhorse), It Goes On will feature 11 tracks exploring the confusion, desperation and blind hope of youth. The album is available to pre-save now HERE, with Westside Cowboy set to support its release with their biggest headline tour to date, including sold-out shows at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town and Manchester’s Albert Hall.
